Fifa 12 - Euro 2012 Expansion Pack

EA Sports have announced that they will celebrate the upcoming EURO 2012 tournament, which begins 8th June in Poland and Ukraine, with a special expansion pack for gamers who already own FIFA 12, rather than bringing out a stand-alone game.

That – and the reduced cost of £15.99 (1,800 MS Points or 2,500 FIFA Points on PC) – should placate fans of the franchise who have previously been lumbered with poorer tournament releases with sparse game modes and distinctly rushed execution in the past.

Here’s the official word from the developer:

EA SPORTS UEFA EURO 2012 will recreate all the drama and excitement of the official tournament with all 53 UEFA member national teams, all eight official stadiums in the tournament, and all the pageantry and atmosphere of one of the largest and most-watched sporting events on the planet.
Fans will be able to compete online for national pride and glory as their favourite European country in the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament against rival nations in the group stage, progress through the knockout rounds and ultimately compete for the chance to be crowned UEFA EURO 2012 champion.
Plus, a live service will drive real-life storylines into the game from the qualifying campaign and the tournament itself, enabling fans to relive dramatic moments with challenges based on real-life matches. Challenges will enable fans to earn experience points and level up their EA SPORTS Football Club profile.

Producer Sebastian Enrique had the following to say ahead of the release:

“This game will tap into the passion fans have for their national teams by capturing all of the national rivalries in-game, and re-creating all the emotion of the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament. We are utilizing the best-playing FIFA videogame ever, driving live, digital content created from the biggest headlines from the tournament into the game, and offering an exclusive new mode that will challenge gamers in unique and compelling ways.”

The expansion pack will also include an all-new Expedition Mode which will enables fan to build, manage and compete with a customised team against other European nations, crafting the perfect strategy for European domination. Fans will choose their favourite European player or FIFA 12 Virtual Pro to captain their customised team, win matches to earn better players from defeated nations, and then defeat the best nations to earn the best players in a campaign quest to defeat all 53 countries and complete the journey to conquer Europe.

EA Sports also released half a dozen screen-shots of the expansion pack to welcome the release news:

Fifa 12 - Security Update

FIFA 12 will receive a security update this week for FIFA Ultimate Team and EA Sports Football Club.

The update will enact a number of changes to ensure user security from phishing and hacking attempts.

  • It will now only be possible to send trade offers to people on your friends list.
  • On entering FUT on your console for the first time after the update, you will be required to provide a unique answer to a security question.
  • If anyone else attempts to enter your FUT account from a different console, they will be required to enter the answer to your security question.

EA has also urged users to protect their personal information.

"You should never reveal your security question and answer to anyone, especially on a website other than the 'ea.com' domain. Never give out your username or password. Never share your login credentials (eg: email address and password) for any reason," EA said.

"EA representatives will never ask you for your password. Non-EA individuals and/or websites that ask for your login information in exchange for discounted goods (eg: free virtual items) or other game-related services should not be trusted."

Security issues with FIFA 12 go back to last October, with user accounts hacked to purchase FIFA Ultimate Team content.

The update will also fix a number of bugs, including one that caused end-of-game disconnects for some FIFA Ultimate Team users.

"For some time now, a number of FUT gamers on PlayStation 3 and PC have suffered disconnections at the end of games. This was a problem associated with certain types of router hardware that resulted in very small but very important bits of data being blocked at the conclusion of a game," they explained.

"We will be deploying a fix for this problem as part of this update."

Users who were affected by the disconnect issues will receive "a haul of FUT content significant enough to demonstrate just how thankful we are for sticking with us while we tackled the problem".

The update will be available March 13 on Xbox 360 and on PlayStation 3 in North America and March 14 for PlayStation 3 users in Europe.

Fifa 12 - 3DS Vs Vita

Well, we all knew that the PS Vita was a more powerful handheld than the 3DS, but its hard to really notice a difference when the vast majority of the games are different. Well thanks to EA for their annual releases, we can see just how much better the Vita version of FIFA 12 is over the 3DS game.

You do have to take into account that the PS Vita version wont have the 3D ‘wow’ that the 3DS has, but thanks to the Vita’s impressive power and the crisp sharp screen it boasts it’ll mean that Nintendo need to push different experiences on their device even more now.

Below are two videos, one is the 3DS version of FIFA 12 and the other is the Vita version. The first thing you’ll see are how vastly improved the player models are, but the crowds also seem less like cardboard inserts, and actual gameplay is smooth and overall looks less jagged and washed out in colour.

Take a look for yourselves:

Fifa 12 - Transfer Update....It's finally Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Electronic Arts have finally released the FIFA 12 squad updates from the January transfer window. It is available to download from today.

Finally Newcastle United have a new number nine in Papiss Demba Cisse (plus Demba Ba’s impressive form has moved him up from 79 to 82) and no longer do you have to rely on the hopeless Shola Ameobi to provide the goals when Ba inevitably is injured. Finally Queens Park Rangers have a threatening strike force themselves with Djibril Cisse and Bobby Zamora joining the London club last month, and Chelsea fans can now play Gary Cahill alongside John Terry.

Also Manchester United have the returning Paul Scholes in their ranks, though don’t think he can play 90 minutes for you as he only has a stamina rating of 47. According to EA, Paul Scholes will not be added to the Ultimate Team. The publisher said that the FIFA 12 update is also available for PlayStation Vita users who bought FIFA Football.

And Sunderland’s James McClean will no longer be an unknown but a genuine attacking force down the wing for Sunderland!

Maxi Lopez, Muntari, Mesbah playing for Milan, Thiago Motta playing for PSG

As for the teams themselves, Tottenham Hotspur’s delicious displays this season have now made them a 5 Star rated team with stats increases for several players including Captain Ledley King (he is now 82) and Scott Parker (83). Newcastle United have also moved up to a 4.5 star rated team.

Now in FIFA 12, Alex has moved to PSG from Chelsea, Freddy Guarin to Inter from Porto, Papiss Cisse to Newcastle from Freiburg, David Pizarro to Man City from Roma, Pienaar to Everton from Tottenham, Bassong to Wolves from Tottenham, Pogrebnyak to Fulham from Stuttgart, Jelavic to Everton from Rangers, Lucho Gonzalez to Porto from Marseille, Zidan to Mainz from Dortmund, Palombo to Inter from Sampdoria, Corluka to Leverkusen from Tottenham, and Marc Janko to Porto from Twente.

Well, the transfers list is numerous and I’m sure you’ll be able to find them all if you will play the game right now!

To download the updated squads manually use the following instructions;

Menu – Customise FIFA > Edit Teams > Change Squads/Rosters > Download Updates.

They will of course download automatically if you play the head-to-head season mode.

Fifa 12 - Scholesy is back

Scholesy is back,
Scholesy is back,
Woah, woah,

Scholesy is back,
Scholesy is back,
Woah, woah...

That's right EA Sports have confirmed that the former England midfielder will be added to the game’s roster when gamers download the latest FIFA 12 squad update.

@EASPORTSFIFA is the official Twitter page of the FIFA series, where they share all the updates of the game and answer fans questions. A number of competitions are also held and every now and then exclusive content is dropped such as the announcement of FIFA Street.

This time around EASPORTSFIFA made an ‘indirect’ announcement, one that will light up the hearts of Manchester United fans all over the world. The page retweeted @RomilyBroad’s tweet which read:

“Confirmed: Paul Scholes will return to Man Utd (Manchester United) in the 23 Feb roster update.” However, there was a catch as it continued, “Not for FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team) tho (though) unfortunately. Different database.”

So the fact of the matter is that this news is legit. However, it does raise a number of questions as to whether Paul Scholes will be given the same attention of graphical detail as was given to the other superstars in the game, or whether he will just be another standard modeled player.

Chances are that with the size of United’s fan base, EA will be putting a fair amount of effort into recreating Scholes for the latest iteration of FIFA 12.

Fifa 12 - PC

This is a tutorial showing how to import custom sounds in FIFA 12 PC :

1. create a folder called "chants" in C:\
2. create subfolders in it like menu music, entrance, team chants etc
3. download/place audio files in those subfolders. eg.place EPL entrance music in entrance.
4. create .m3u playlist by selecting the files in the subfolders. eg. right-click on EPLentrance.mp3 and select " add to vlc playlist " or " add to " WMP list "
5. Then save the playlist in your default music folder. eg. C:\Users\Name\Music ( IMP - dont create any folder inside music folder, just save playlist there )
6. Its all done, import them into game and dont delete/move chants folder from C:/, otherwise custom sounds wont work....

Fifa 12 - Transfer Update

Hi Guys,

Fifa fans all over the world will be waking up today to find that their copy of FIFA 12 could now be severely outdated. That’s because the January transfer window has now officially closed, and eager FIFA 12 fans are eager to find out when all the transfers will be implemented into the game by EA.
If you have plenty of spare time on your hands, you could do it yourself manually, but that isn’t really too much fun – especially since there has been a large amount of activity for Premier League clubs. We didn’t see too many high profile transfers in the calibre of Andy Carroll and Fernando Torres’ respective moves to Liverpool and Chelsea, but there are definitely some big names that have changed clubs and should be featuring in FIFA 12 soon.

At the moment, there is no set release date for when EA will make the January Transfer changes in FIFA 12. However, one possible release time for the update could be this Friday at 6pm GMT, as that’s when EA will update their FIFA Ultimate Team database with all the transfer changes. They have already updated the system with changes that happened earlier in the month such as Thierry Henry’s glorious return to Arsenal, but it would be logical for EA to update the main database as well with all the transfers.

What changes can we expect to see then? Strikers Bobby Zamora and Djibril Cisse’s moves to QPR are some of the biggest changes you’ll see, while Arsenal and Tottenham supporter’s will be disappointed to hear that Ryo Miyaichi and Roman Pavlyuchenko have parted ways with the club, although the little Japanese starlet’s move is only a loan one.

It’s a good idea to keep checking this thread over at the EA Forums for any future updates regarding the transfer window changes, but as we said it is well worth keeping an eye on that Friday 6pm update to see if the main database is updated too. If you were following the last day of the transfer window yesterday, let us know your thoughts on all the movers. No additions to Arsenal yet again which is a surprise to us, while we are predicting at least one new striker joining Liverpool – moves for Darren Bent or Jermaine Defoe didn’t happen though.

FIFA 12 - Secrets You Probably Didn't Know

Hi Guys,

Here is a video which explains a few simple steps to improve your overall game and will defiantly help you win matches.

Fifa 12 - QPR

Most of the time when we pick a team and play, we either play with default formation and change a few players or we play with a formation that we are comfortable with and choose the players based on that. And sometimes it works out but most of the time the team will lack in chemistry so i found these videos so that you can see which formation to choose for which team and which player to play in the right position.

Now its time for QPR, they are a really promising side and they look really sold in the back. With wright Phillips on the wing they provide a fast paced game for players who like wing play (Like me).  If you are looking to pick a team to challenge your skills in Fifa 12 then QPR are the best team to go with

Fifa 12 - Aston Villa

Hi Guys,

Most of the time when we pick a team and play, we either play with default formation and change a few players or we play with a formation that we are comfortable with and choose the players based on that. And sometimes it works out but most of the time the team will lack in chemistry so i found these videos so that you can see which formation to choose for which team and which player to play in the right position.

First up is Aston Villa, I'm not a big fan of the current Aston Villa squad but still they are a really good team to play with and they have a lot of good players to challenge even the best gamer's  if you play your cards right.

Fifa 12 - FIfa 12 Vita is the best Fifa yet!!!

FIFA 12 is looking promising in Vita because it gives the full console experience hooked with all manner of added touch-screen trickery.

In the video below, courtesy of the PS Blog, producer Matt Prior demonstrates the portable version's added bells and whistles afforded by Vita's tricked out hardware.

Prior says it's "the most controllable FIFA ever". He also says now you "can use your footballing brain like never before".

Fifa 12 - PS Vita Trailer

FIFA 12 has been the biggest selling game of the year across all platforms and around the world and it is going to be the best selling game in PlayStation Vita when it launches next year. The annual soccer release is one of the most popular franchises in gaming, and the additional functionality that the PS Vita provides is looking like a good fit for the game.

With dual analog controls and remarkable graphics that are front and center are nice, but the touch screen will also function as a method to pass the ball around the pitch. The Rear Touch Pad will allow you take shots, and EA proclaims the feature to deliver "pin-point accuracy".

Boasting the complete FIFA license, with all of the flavor you'll find in the console version of the game, FIFA 12 on the Vita could be one of the best sports games on the handheld, when it arrives next year.

Fifa 12 Vs Fifa Manager 12

HI Guys,

Like most soccer fans, I have enjoyed playing the FIFA game franchise for the past several years. The game has made many improvements over the years in hopes to bring fans a real life game experience. There has been much debate on this site about which game is better, FIFA 12 or its main rival, PES 12. There are countless gamers who think each of these games is better than the other. But I think another game should be added to this discussion and that is the long running Football Manager series.

This article is not meant as a review of Football Manager as I have never played any of the FM games; instead, this is a request for help. I read many of the reviews on Football Manager 2012 and the majority appears positive. They all hail Football Manager 2012 as one of the best football games on the market. Numerous of the reviews point to the extreme depth and detail of the gameplay features.

Fifa Manager deals with the business and strategy side of football, i love playing the manager mode in Fifa 12 and Fifa manager 12 gives you a more in depth experience in this phase of football. You can extend your stadium, develop youth academies around the world, sell merchandise, bring in new talents and  experiment with management side of football. I personally love both the games so how about you?

Which game do you think is better? Should you include Football Manager 2012 in my gaming arsenal?

Fifa 12 - Best clubs for Manger Mode

One of the perks that separate footy video games from other sports games is the amount of playable teams. Different from its other big league brethrens, clubs from all around the world are available. For Manager Mode aficionados, this means having the pleasant problem of choosing which one to start with. So hereby is a list of five interesting teams to use in FIFA 2012’s Manager Mode. This is not a list of top five clubs in the world, per se, because we can argue forever -- or when England wins a World Cup, whichever comes first. Think of this as more of a list of teams that provide a distinctive way, or talking point, to play with in FIFA 2012's Manager Mode.

Manchester City

Love them or hate them, you have to put City on the list. After all, oil stained money is still money. For folks who don’t like cheating, but still want to the ability to snap out many of the game's best and brightest, City’s petrol dollars are the closest, morally-OK alternative. You already start with somewhat of a fantasy squad with Aguero, Silva, Dzeko, Tevez and Nasri. But if it happens that you don’t like certain players, send ‘em packing! Then go out and buy, one, two, three or ten more. For many, it might rob them of a challenge, but hey, leave some room for others (though admittedly, not me) who like this sort of stuff.

Barcelona

There's really not much more to say about the team of choice for what seems like 90 percent of the online populace. But I suppose I'll say it anyway: Barcelona’s football is pretty; passing, moving, passing and moving again. This year, with the increased time and space in midfield, FIFA seems tailor-made for these masters of the tiki-taka style. You have Xavi and Iniesta in the middle, acting as the metronome, while Messi and Sanchez do the scoring further upfield. If you’re a purist, and you want to play the way the game was meant to be played (thankfully there’s no dive button in FIFA for Busquets), it’s hard to look past Barcelona.

Stoke

Now you can really answer the questions that seem to trouble many a British commentators: "Can Barcelona beat Stoke on a wet night in the Britannia?" While the answer "duh" seems clear to those of us whose glasses aren't tinted by the Red Cross of St. James, it's nonetheless telling that Stoke is the team mentioned. This club is well drilled at the back with imposing defenders, and has the right players for the way they attack: direct. Don’t look to get pretty with this collection of players, just get the ball wide, up the park and into the box. It's fun to play set pieces with Stoke, just because of the amount of aerial threats they have, and not to mention Rory Delap's monster throw-ins. Why not give yourself a challenge and try to win the Champions League with Stoke while maintaining this distinctively British style?

Bayern Munich

This is more of a personal favorite. I love quick, incisive football, and the players Bayern have suit that to a tee. An all round midfielder in Schweinsteiger who does the dirty work; a blossoming creative mastermind in Toni Kroos; two lethal wingers on either flanks in Robben and Ribery; a clever striker in Gomez. But my favorite — and this is influenced partly by his real life performances — is Thomas Muller. He can play anywhere up front, can roam, pass and dribble.

Swindon Town

Or really, any team in the lower divisions. It’s been a half myth/half truth that FIFA plays best with lower league teams because lower rated players mean less than perfect passes and shots, which leads to a more measured pace and more chippy style of play — in short, more realism. So far, I’ve found that to be somewhat true and somewhat placebo. Either way, it’s always a nice challenge, especially if you want to play the game for the long haul and start off with a lower division team to grind your way to the top. Just don't jump ship when you get close to the top and the big boys offer you a job.

What's your team of choice when playing FIFA's Manager Mode?

Fifa 12 Review by Fc_Zenit_Fan

Hey guys,

I could not wait much longer and decided to give this season ticket thing a go for my PS3, even though I already have my game pre-ordered through Origin. I just wanted to see how the game has changed from the demo. Here are my impressions.

Well, I think overall the game has improved slightly. There are less weird collisions due to the Impact Engine, but also the Impact Engine itself is less noticeable. I've played FIFA 11 on PS3 and I now, in the full version of FIFA 12 on PS3, the way collisions are handled are almost the same. So basically they pretty much decided to polish it up for FIFA 13, I suppose, while leaving some bits and pieces of it in FIFA 12.

The dribbling has improved and the "precision dribbling" now "kicks in" sooner than in the demo. It's implemented better, I think. Just feels right, compared to the demo.

Tactical defending is about the same as in the demo, maybe it's a little bit easier now, since we've all adjusted to it, or maybe EA did some tweaking, but it just seems pretty easy to take the ball away. However, I've not been playing against highly ranked teams like Barca or Real, so that might still prove to be a great challenge. Overall, I think tactical defending is a change for the better.

Career mode this year is actually playable and highly enjoyable. Most of all I love the new transfer system as it seems like they've really spent lots of time working on it. It's basically now a game within a game to sign a player you want. I've had to work real hard to convince Podolski to join my club (Fc Zenit). I've had to pay $34.5 million instead of his market value of $24.5 mil to convince FC Köln to let him go, and I also had to up his contract by about 50,000 a week. Then I speent weeks ironing out the contract for Bosingwa. Chelsea was surprisingly eager to let him go for about $11.2 mil (market value $9.4 mil, i think), but I had to double his contract from 100k a week to 200k a week. Every time I'd send him an offer, he wanted more money. I guess he really didn't want to go to Russia, but I needed a quality RB in case something happened to Anykov. In general, the transfers in the game are fairly realistic. I just saw Sneijder move to Real from Inter for like $67 mil, i think. He was on the verge of changing clubs this year, so it's a realistic transfer. Oh yeah, I also wanted to get Forlan, offered tons of money, but Inter said he's not interested cause he just changed clubs and that was that.

One other cool thing about the Career Mode is the news. You get all the rumors around your league, and also lots of other news. Like analysis which team will finish in which spot. Who's looking to sign which player. Then you also get the news of your players status and so on. Basically makes it more fun to play.

The game speed, to me, seems a bit too quick, but I guess it's about the same as in the demo. I think if you change it to slow it might be better, but I just didnt bother with that yet as I want to play the same speed as online.

The addition of the favorite club feature, where everything you do goes to the total of your clubs XP points, is cool. You basically have another league and it drives you to play more and more FIFA. Win more and more games. Etc... I like it a lot, although my club is currently in 7th place there Other players gotta step it up!

Now, coming to the bad and the ugly part. Head-to-Head Seasons, and (probably) the rest of online modes. One word I have to describe it. LAG. Massive, massive lag. I've never seen this stuttering and freezing in FIFA 11. Sometimes it would get bad and freeze up, but never like this. It makes the game almost unplayable for me online. And the worst thing is, since now you select your club and all the settings before you even know your opponent, is you cannot see the ping. Basically the game select your opponent itself and it doesnt matter how bad the connection between you two is, it just starts the game. In FIFA 11 at least you saw that connection was bad and could quit the game before it even started. Not anymore. So because of this major stuttering I've lost all 3 games I've played. It basically made all of those things I've enjoyed about FIFA go to a garbage dump. Very frustrating. I hope this is something PS3 specific and it'll be better on PC. Otherwise it ruins the game essentially.

Oh yeah, one last point. I seriously pity all the people playing on the consoles. This game looks horrible compared to PC (if you've got a good one that is) and not only that, but the menus are sluggish, the load times are long, and the framerate drops during replays constantly. After I've played FIFA on PC, I WILL NOT go back to FIFA on consoles (after this weekend, that is).

Ok, that's it for now. Overall a great game, but the online part of it, on the PS3 at least, is questionable, for now. I hope we'll get better experience.

Precision dribbling is "activated" in two ways: 1) you press the LB button, which is usually used to stop a player quickly or do a quick turn, while standing still; 2) it's activated by the game itself, if you're in control of a great dribbler like Messi and you're in close proximity to a defender. This lets you zig-zag past opponents with just your left stick and very helpful to try to dribble past multiple defenders. Of course the better the player the easier it is to pull it off.

P.S. Unrelated thing I forgot to mention. Overall rating DOES NOT change, when the player plays out of position. I've put strikers as CB and their rating remained 80-85 or so. EA said they fixed it. Looks like they didnt, but I think it doesnt matter anyway. Just makes it harder for you.

Fifa 12 Latest Update

Hi Guys,

I Just cam across a few updates about Fifa 12 thats is going to release by the end of this month. And just to let you know i have already Pre-Ordered. For a few days now Fifa 12 officials have been busy answering a lot of questions from the fans on the twitter account. And i thought of sharing a few with you guys.

The latest team updates this year are

  • Peru
  • Egypt
  • Chile
  • Colombia
  • Cote D' Ivoire

China, Wales and Czech Republic will not be part of this years game. The leagues are almost the same but due to a few controversies Turkish and Czech leagues have been removed form this years game. But you can play with Galatasary and Argentina's Racing Club from Rest of the World league.

They have also mentioned about a new "Youth Academy" in Manager Mode were you can accommodated up to 16 players. But you will need a good scout and a youth coach to make them a first team player. We will here more on this later (Hopefully :) ). And now you can by the player that you have on loan by the end of his term at your club. You can also monitor the growth of you r loaned players and according to Mr. Humber players will grow more this time around.

One of the biggest news for me was that other clubs might be taken over by Rich , Money burning "Consortium's" meaning that along the season some smaller clubs might start buying big players out of the blue to change the scenario of the season.
